Preserving Our Neighbourhood’s Heritage
The Kelowna Heritage Conservation Area is one of the city’s most treasured neighbourhoods—a living reminder of Kelowna’s rich history, architectural heritage and distinctive community character. Through KelownaHCAP (Kelowna Heritage Conservation Area Protectors), residents and supporters are working to celebrate and preserve its historic homes, mature trees, green spaces and welcoming, walkable streets for generations to come.
Today, increasing development pressures threaten the very qualities that make this area special. Preserving heritage is not about preventing growth; it is about ensuring that growth respects the history, scale, and character that generations have worked to build.
By protecting Kelowna’s Heritage Conservation Area, we safeguard an important part of our identity, preserve valuable green space, and leave a lasting legacy for those who will call this community home in the future.
